Joanne Lannin is a freelance writer and retired writing instructor. She worked for the Portland Press Herald for 22 years and was hired as their first woman sportswriter. She has taught journalism at the high school and college levels. Jo still plays basketball on an over-70 team called the Maine Pioneers.
